The Weldfast HARDEX III R 20kg 4x450mm Hardfacing Electrode Box, part of the HARDEX series, is a medium heavy coated Rutile type electrode designed for hard facing on mild steel, carbon steel, and low alloy steels. With an electrode diameter of 4mm and a redrying temperature of 120 deg C for 1/2 hr, this electrode offers a current range of 140-175 Amp. The weld analysis includes C:0.50-0.80%, Mn: 0.30-0.60%, Si: 0.30-0.60%, Cr: 7.00-8.00%, Mo: 0.50-1.00%, V: 0.40-0.80%, S: 0.03% & P: 0.03%. Achieve approximately 600 Brinell hardness with non-machinable weld that can only be ground. Ideal for use on austenitic manganese steel parts when paired with a buffer layer of Weldfast 307.
