The pahal bench vise is an okay product. its made of cast iron, so its sturdy enough, but its not the best bench vice on the market.

Good product ; Great value for money
Even if we are not owning a workshop or hobby-carpenters or fabricators, a vice is a useful thing in most households. Right from opening tight bottletops to DIYing mixijar/geyser repairs, a vice is a BIG help. Especially one that has a swivel base. One slight shortcoming is that jaws of this vice are not replaceable, but that is not an issue for home use.

If you ask about the most reliable partner for a worker involved in carpentry, plumbing, metal work, drilling, or sawing, the answer will be the Bench Vices, sometimes a.k.a. the carpenter's Vice. But why is it so? Of course, bench Vices are a powerful and valuable tool for providing strength and a stable base to materials, while holding them securely in place during cutting, drilling, and even trimming. They are an essential tool for various types of workshops, automobile garages, iron work, metal work, and many more. They are equipped with a jaw-like structure, where you can fix the object between them, while providing strength with movable and tightening screws. However, while purchasing them, you don't have to look only for strength, but also for other features that enhance your work experience with safety. If you are looking for the most reliable and robust bench Vice tools, Moglix is the place to grab them at the best price. At our B2B online shopping platform, you can purchase top-quality bench Vices from the most renowned brands like MK, Trust, Climax, Pahal, Hanbon, Globus, Forzer, Hukums, Durelo, and many more.
As we discussed, a bench Vice is the essential tool mostly used by carpenters, metal workers, and even sometimes by DIY enthusiasts. Buy what makes it an important tool, let's understand that:
>> It enhances stability while performing different tasks like cutting, trimming, and drilling, preventing objects from slipping and sliding.
>> Your hands are free during the operation, resulting in safety and an efficient work process.
>> Elevates the quality and accuracy in your work process, giving aligned cuts, holes, and trims.
>> Provides versatility by performing various work in different work environments.
Before purchasing a Bench Vice tool, knowing every specific information about its components gives you an upper edge to improve your selection process.
Jaws: It is jaw jaw-like structure with a zigzag tooth design to provide strength while dealing with different types of objects or metals. However, sometimes, it may have a flatter holding surface, too.
Screws: Using screw equipped mechanism, you can fix the precise size of jaws according to the thickness of the object or metal to be drilled, trimmed, or cut.
Handle: This is one of the most important components, since it helps in clamping and spreading the jaws according to the required force and pressure.
Anvil: This is a flat surface attached to the side of the jaws used for light hammering and fixing metals during and after the work.
There are different applications of bench Vices in different professions, making the work process smooth.
Metalworking vices: Because of their strength and ability to withstand pressure, this type of metalworking vice is ideal for clamping any large, heavy materials, which prevents the work from slipping. Use these vises to firmly grip your workpiece during cutting, drilling, welding, scraping, sanding, and other tasks to free your hands from work. Their jaws are adjustable and clamp onto the workpiece for a secure hold. Choose a vise based on the material of the workpiece, the jaw capacity required, and the desired mounting style. With these heavy-duty vises, you can secure your metal workpieces for grinding, cutting, filing, and other metalworking processes.
Woodworking Vices: Woodworking-VicesUse these woodworking vises to prevent the marring or scratching of wood, plastic, and composite materials. Smooth jaws with a wide, flat face distribute clamping pressure across the surface of your workpiece for a firm yet gentle hold. Wood is frequently clamped when performing tasks like sawing, drilling, or carpentry. This is done so that the user can keep both hands free and away from the material during applications, and a woodworking vice is an excellent tool for this.
Heavy Duty Vices: Heavy duty bench vises are typically made of iron in order to handle heavier applications. Rough steel jaws, an accurate slide bar, and an ACME threaded main screw are among the featured components. A standard heavy-duty bench vise will have either a fixed base or a 360-degree pivot. Pipe jaw bench vises have a second set of steel pipe jaws that rotate 360 degrees and are replaceable.
Medium Duty Vices: Medium-duty bench vices can be used for a variety of tasks since they are frequently composed of iron and have both pipe and interchangeable steel top jaws. Many include an anvil and a 360-degree pivot. Jaw faces can be swapped between having ragged and smooth sides depending on the application.
Throat Depth of Vice: When selecting a bench vice, this is one of the most crucial elements to take into account. Measure the throat depth of a vice from the top of the jaws to the top of the slide beneath the jaws before making a purchase. If the throat depth is large enough, you can hold larger workpieces. It is, therefore, appropriate to fully unwind the vice to ensure that it is capable of holding your workpiece.
Size of the Objects: This is related to the previous point. You must be aware of the size of the object that will be used with the vice you intend to purchase. Metalworking bench vices come in a variety of jaw widths, including 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8 inches. As the size of the object to be held in the vice grows, so does the width of the jaw.
The overall weight of the Vice: Another factor to consider is the bench vice's construction and overall weight. Even if two vices have the same jaw width, their weight may differ. To understand the difference in their construction, compare the two vices. You should determine whether your workbench can support the weight of a heavier vice.
Use of the Vice: Do you intend to use the vice as an anvil and hit it with a hammer? If your job requires hammering, choose a vice with a large rear anvil and sturdy construction.
Durability: The main body of your vice will be strong and solid enough to help you with your work for years, but heavy use may cause the jaws to become worn. If you intend to use your vise frequently, consider the possibility of wear and look for a model with replaceable serrated jaws.
Material: Regardless of whether a vice is designed to hold wood or metal, the vise itself is typically made of iron or steel. The jaws, slide, and mainframe are made of high-quality alloy, while the handle, screw, and jaw surfaces are made of steel. Grey iron (also known as cast iron) or ductile iron can be used to make iron vices.
Size: The size of the bench vice should always be chosen based on available space and project requirements. Large vices take up more space in your workplace and make it difficult to move or work comfortably. While the small vices take up less space, you can use the rest of the worktable for other projects. Furthermore, smaller vices are lighter and easier to move from one location to another.
