Slower than Desktop..

5900rpm is slower for file transfer than 7200rpm desktop drives. Fine for surveillance - but do not expect desktop HDD speeds.

5900rpm is nice and quiet - quieter than regular desktop drives. Server room runs noticeably quieter since switching to Skyhawk.

Format Time..

NVR formatting took 12 minutes for 2TB. Not a complaint - just allow time when setting up. First time install only of course.

Packaging Could Improve..

Anti-static cushioning inside the box was minimal for a storage drive. Better protective packaging would give more confidence.

Good Weeks Storage!!

2TB stores 3 weeks of 8 camera footage at 1080p. Good storage duration - old recordings overwrite automatically. Set and forget.
