Sturdy quality

Sturdy quality snips for under a tenna!well made, durable and cuts 1.4 mil with ease - though they state 0.7mm -1.2mm.the spring is strong so opens easy as you cut which my others did not and that helps me maintain a straight line. i agree on another review that forcing a cut will cause the metal to either curl or distort but isnt this just common sense when approaching any job.im very pleased with them and never had an issue with stanley fatmax products and they seem to fair up against others in a much higher price scale.

Stanley has spared no expense... a good tool with top quality components.its cutting jaw is made of forged chromium molybdenum steel. cr-m is considerably harder than other steels alloys which helps it to retain its sharpness for a very long time.there is an error in moglixs description about the product. the jaw is not chromium vanadium, it is chromium molybdenum.its cutting edge so sharp that you can use it as a normal scissors to cut paper, plastic or cloth. i could easily cut a 20 gauge (.8mm) mild steel plate without breaking a sweat.cr-m steel is not really corrosion resistant. so, keep the jaws oiled to prevent rusting.

Without a doubt, stanley does stand up to its reputation... especially the fatmax series.. cuts through metal like butter. suitable for light to medium cutting of metals.

My first impression was really good. cut wires of chicken mesh like a charm. build quality is solid and should serve the purpose. problems came up when i saw rusting of the snips after i used to cut a cage mesh. it did not come in contact with moisture. thats why it bothers me. overall satisfactory product. for the price you pay youd ought to demand quality as snips similar to this are available at under rs 200 from local hardware stores. theyre just cheap quality.
