Good controller for SOHO

I purchased this to experience the SDN and Control my AP with fast roaming. Product is good. But it's little slower compared to regular device web ui. But it provides advantage of monitoring in a single pane of glass Cons It does not provide all the the feature offered in the standalone device. Though TP link is adding features rapidly, still missing some features. If granular control of each Switch and router is required, better to stay in standalone mode. This is good to manage AP. But not for switches and routers unless there is a pain in managing more devices and better visualisation

Reliable access point

If you want secure your network and add firewall and control everything from single interface and from cloud this is best route. pair it with inexpensive poe+ switch, router and add an access point. it better and inexpensive alternative to sdn network controllers likes of unify or cisco.
