Thermometer – A must have to measure your body temperature any time, anywhere

A Thermometer is a device used to measure body temperature. Temperature can rise any time of the day due to any infection attacking your body so you must have a measuring instrument to monitor your body temperature and get medication at the right time.

What is normal body temperature?

Normal body temperature varies between the range of 36.5 – 37.5 degrees C/ 98 – 100 degrees F on average, though it may be different for different people.

Does the temperature reading depend on what body part the reading is being taken?

A rectal temperature reading will be a little higher than an oral reading. Temperature taken in the armpit will be lesser than an oral reading. The right way to measure temperature is to take a rectal reading.

Let’s learn all about Fever!

A person has a fever if their body temperature rises over and above the normal range of 98–100°F (36–37°C). It is usually a sign of an infection. As a person’s body temperature increases, they may feel cold and uneasy. Eating, exercise, sleeping ,and individual factors can also affect temperature.

When an infection occurs in your body, the immune system will arrange an attack to try to remove the cause. A high body temperature is a normal part of this reaction.

What causes fever?

A fever is a body temperature that’s higher than normal. It’s also called a high temperature; hyperthermia, etc, and it’s usually an indicator that your body is working to keep you healthy from an infection.  A part of your brain known as hypothalamus controls your body temperature.

How to treat a fever?

A fever usually resolves on its own if it is caused by seasonal infections However, if body temperature rises too high, it may be a symptom and cause of a severe infection that needs urgent medical treatment.
